Worldwide Crypto Atm Numbers Cross 6000 Mark, More To Be Installed
The number of cryptocurrency ATMs has exceeded 6000 globally, with more in the process of installation. According to current numbers, there has been a 50 percent rise in the numbers of ATMs since the starting of 2019. With more than 4000 ATMs, the USA is leading closely followed by Canada and the United Kingdom.
The crypto ATM tracking site, Coinatm radar reported that as of 25th November 2019, there are a total of 6006 ATMs installed in 75 nations. At the beginning of the year, that number was just 4113.
The site also listed around 1, 48,823 devices that provide almost the same services to people in the lines of buying and selling of cryptocurrencies. It comprises existing ATMs, retail chains, mobile payment platforms, kiosks, etc. Bitquick and Bitnovo Teller top the list under this category.
The USA has taken the lead among nations with the most number of cryptocurrency ATMs, in around 4120 places. Among these 438 are in Los Angeles and 273 in Chicago. There are 233 ATMs in Atlanta and 212 in Miami. Canada follows with ATMs in 733 places including Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. The UK is in the third position with machines in 295 places and Austria takes fourth place with installations in 193 places.
There are a total of 42 cryptocurrency ATM manufacturers and 563 operators according to Coinatmradar. The starting price of these machines range from $3500 to $4500 and goes above that as well. One needs to abide by proper regulations and get a license to install and operate these crypto ATMs.
The surge in the number of crypto ATMs worldwide attests to the fact that more people are taking interest and adopting cryptocurrencies as a viable investment or even as a mode to pay for a purchase.
